Reese Snell played football and basketball while attending Meridian High school. He served two years during World War II with the 85th Infantry Division and received a Bronze Star for Heroic Action. After the war, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi, playing football and baseball while earning bachelor's and Master's degrees.
